Budget

It is a monthly challenge to manage the Ihata Shelter, as we receive NO government or corporate funding. We are striving to become a self-sufficient organisation through income generating projects of a community shop selling used items, making hand-made jewellery, growing and selling organically grown vegetables and a small laundry service.

It costs in excess of R2000 per month to assist and shelter an abused resident in view of their specific are and treatment needed. Most residents (women and children) arrive at the Shelter with just the clothes on the backs, and need immediate basic toiletries, clothing and bedding.

We have nine (9) dedicated and loyal staff members and a casual gardener/maintenance man. Board Members volunteer their services without compensation.

We look forward to your continued monthly/annual financial support including donations of fresh and/or tinned foods, spices, new or good second-hand clothing, bedding, bric-a-brac, educational books & toys, office stationery (printing paper, pens, pencils, exercise soft & hardcover books, lever arch files) etc.

We are eternally grateful to everyone who generously assists us in this humanitarian service. Without your monthly support, we cannot assist and shelter abused women and their young children.
